New road closures and lane restrictions
Northeast
20 Avenue N.E. between Edmonton Trail and 1 Street N.E. will be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 24 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, for utility work.

Southeast
Southbound 7 Street S.W. between 6 Avenue S.W. and 7 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 24 and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, for construction.

Macleod Trail and 1 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. and 18 Avenue S.E. will have various lane restrictions and side street closures, from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24 until midnight on Sunday, May 26, for paving.

Northbound 52 Street S.E. south of 90 Avenue S.E. the right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, May 27 until Friday, May 31, for utilities.

Westbound 90 Avenue S.E. west of 52 Street S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, May 27 until Friday, May 31, for utilities.

Ongoing road closures and lane restrictions
Special Events
Ahmadiyya Muslin Jama’at
54 Avenue N.E. between 44 Street N.E. and Westwinds Drive N.E. will be closed from the following dates:

5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22.
12 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24.

There will be no parking in this area from Wednesday, May 22 until Tuesday, May 28.

The Calgary International Children’s Festival
The following road closures and lane restrictions will apply from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 until Saturday, May 25.

No buses allowed between Macleod Trail and 1 Street S.E.
Buses will be loading and unloading children on west side of 1 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E.
Southbound of 9 Avenue S.E. from Centre Street to 1 Street S.E. will be unloading children from buses.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution in this area and watch for children.

HD Cartwright Grade 9 Triathlon
Friday, May 24 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon
Bowness road will be closed at Monserrat Drive N.W. (Shouldice Park) on Friday, May 24 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. noon.

Lilac Festival
Road closure information from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. :

4 Street S.W. between 13 Avenue S.W. and 26 Avenue S.W. will be closed
17 Avenue S.W. between 2 Street S.W. and 8 Street S.W. except Calgary Transit will be closed. The area will be controlled by Calgary Police Service.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes or to take the LRT during the Lilac Festival.

49th Annual Scotiabank Calgary Marathon
Sunday, May 26 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Olympic Way will be closed from 14 Avenue S.E. to 19 Avenue S.E. (Also, Olympic Way from 4 Street S.E. to 12 Street S.E. will be closed for one hour between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.)
4 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane from 8 Avenue S.E. to 14 Avenue S.E.
11 Avenue will be reduced to two westbound lanes from Olympic Way to 14 Street S.W.
12 Street will be closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 2 Avenue N.E.
1 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one eastbound lane between 12 Street N.E. and 4 Street N.E.
4 Street N.E. will be reduced to one lane on east side from 1 Avenue N.E. to Riverfront Avenue N.E.
8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 4 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E.
Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Centre Street and the Langevin Bridge (4 Street N.E.)
Memorial Drive will be completely closed between 10 Street N.W. and Crowchild Trail N.W.
Riverfront Avenue will be closed from 1 Street S.W. to 6 Street S.E.
Southbound Elbow Drive will be reduced to one right lane from 5 Street S.W. to 32 Avenue S.W.
At Flanders Avenue S.W. ramps both directions on Crowchild Trail S.W. will be closed.

Drive with caution and watch for runners in the Mount Royal, Bankview, and Garrison Woods areas:

Northwest
Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of Sarcee Trail, one lane will be closed, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, until Friday, May 31, for noise wall replacement.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at 24 Street N.W., will have various lane closures on a daily basis, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, until Friday, May 31, for noise wall replacement.

Shaganappi Trail at John Laurier Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily starting on Wednesday, May 22 until Saturday, May 25, for landscaping.

Southwest
Glenmore Trail S.W. between Highway 8 and Crowchild Trail will be closed, from 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 26 until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 27, for street cleaning activities.

The northbound right lane on Centre Street between 6 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. is closed until further notice. This is due to emergency utility work.

Southeast
52 Street S.E. between 86 Avenue S.E. and 90 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 24 until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 27, for utilities. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h. Delays are expected and motorists are advised to use Barlow Trail as alternative route.

90 Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 24 until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 27, for utilities. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h. Delays are expected and motorists are advised to use Barlow Trail as alternative route.

3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 17 to 5 a.m. on Friday, May 24, for the LRT Refurbishment Project.

Long Term road closure and lane restrictions – projects
Northwest
Eastbound 2 Avenue N.W. between 10 Street N.W. and 9A Street N.W. will be closed from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, for construction.

Bowness Road N.W. at 16 Avenue N.W. will have various daily lane restrictions, from 6 p.m. on Monday, May 21 until Sunday, June 30, for bridge rehabilitation project.

Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as an alternative route. For more information, visit 36 Street N.E. road reconstruction and widening.

Lane closures on Centre Street between Laycock Drive and Thorncrest Road will restrict traffic to a single lane in each direction starting at 4 a.m. Monday, April 22, for the Centre Street Reconstruction and Transit Priority project. Southwest
Westbound 13 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W. will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29, for approximately two months for the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway Project.

Southeast
68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last until mid-June. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.

52 Street S.E. at 126 Avenue S.E., one lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be no left turns at the intersection from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 3 until the end of June, for utility installation.

Motorists heading north on Deerfoot Trail to travel east on Stoney Trail will be re-routed to a different off ramp for eight weeks beginning Thursday, May 9, 2013. The existing eastbound off ramp is being removed so a new ramp can be built in its place as part of the Calgary Ring Road.

11 Avenue S.E. between Maggie Street and 8 Street S.E. will be closed from 7 a.m. on Monday, May 13 until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 7, for construction.
