Shahid Kapoor scares pregnant wife Mira Rajput

Shahid Kapoor who is basking in the joy with the thought of the arrival of his first child revealed how he scared his wife Mira Rajput.  Shahid’s ‘Udta Punjab’ avatar scared his pregnant wife Mira.  The 35-year-old revealed that horrified Mira sat two inches away from him during the film’s screening.

The actor laughably said that Mira was so scared after watching his character Tommy Singh in ‘Udta Punjab’ that he had to make her believe that he is not the reel person.

“Then she said please tell me you are not Tommy Singh!” he added.

‘Udta Punjab’ is based on drug abuse in the interiors of Punjab. Shahid will be seen in the role of rock star Tommy Singh who gets caught up in a drug-related controversy in the film. It also stars Kareena Kapoor in the role of a doctor and Alia Bhatt as a Bihari migrant who wants to be a hockey player. Pynjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh makes his Bollywood debut with the film in the role of a police officer Sartaj Singh.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the movie will release on June 17.

Shahid and Mira tied the knot in July last year in a private ceremony. It was an arranged marriage. Shahid confirmed the news of Mira’s pregnancy at the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’.

"Yes, I'm going to be a father," he had announced excitedly and loudly.

Shahid Kapoor is all set to take the responsibility of  a baby, “It will be a new responsibility. From being an independent individual, you become part of a family and of a wonderful unit. So you feel responsible not just for yourself but for others as well. I am sure my wife (Mira Rajput) feels the same way about it. She was an independent individual and now she has responsibility of us being a family”.

Shahid Kapoor is looking forward to fatherhood, “I am really excited and looking forward to it. It’s a really nice feeling”.
