Ajay Devgn suffers hypothermia while shooting ‘Shivaay’ in Bulgaria

Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn has braved extreme weather in Bulgaria where he has been shooting for his ambitious project ‘Shivaay’. The actor shot for an extremely difficult scene atop the highest peak Vihren of Pirin range where temperatures dropped to as low as minus 19 degrees.

Ajay managed to pull off the scene in just a T-shirt and a jacket, and reportedly suffered hypothermia, a condition of abnormally low body temperature, due to the extreme cold, according to a report in The Hindu.

The two-time National Award winner, who was recently honoured with the Padma Shri, shared a viedio of the shoot on Twitter. In the clip, the actor is seen standing atop the white snow-clad mountain with a chopper hovering above him. Post the shot, he is seen helping by the crew in wearing warm garments.

“When the going gets tough, tough get going! Heartfelt thanks to fantastic TeamShivaay for an Extreme Bulgaria shoot,” Ajay wrote on the micro-blogging site along with the video.

The chopper shoot reportedly went on for 40 minutes with Ajay on top of the peak while the crew waited at a safer point below.

Shivaay is Ajay’s second directorial venture after ‘U,Me Aur Hum’. The movie went on floors in November last year in cantonment town of Landour adjoining Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.

The film also stars debutante Sayesh Saigal, grandniece of vetern actress Saira Bano, and British child artiste Abigail Eames in the role of Ajay’s 12-year-old on-screen daughter ‘Gaura’.

‘Shivaay’ is expected to release around Diwali season this year.
